This meeting took place the Township of South-West Oxford’s Municipal office at 6:30 p.m. A summary of the happenings from Council is as follows: 

  • Concept Drawings of Proposed Municipal Office, Child Care, and Library Building: SPH Engineering presented preliminary drawings for the proposed new municipal office, childcare centre, and potential library space in Mount Elgin (located within Phase 6 of the subdivision).
  • By-law Exemption Requests:
    • Council approved an exemption to the Animal Care & Control By-law for 584904 Beachville Road and denied a request for 97 Glenn Ave N. Both requests involved keeping livestock (chickens) in residential zones subject to specific conditions.
    • Council approved Noise By-law exemption requests for 474379 Dodge Line (Sweaburg Pavilion, private event) and 565038 Karn Road (wedding).
  • Committee of Adjustment Hearings: Council granted approval for minor variance application A05-2025, submitted by Purdy and Clayton for the property located at 374436 Foldens Line.
  • 2025 AORS Municipal Public Works Trade Show: Council received a presentation from Kelly Elliott, Marketing and Communications Specialist for the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors (AORS), regarding the upcoming trade show scheduled for June 4–5 at the Woodstock Fairgrounds.
  • Consideration of Engineer’s Report – Koteles Drain: Council accepted the report prepared by K. Smart Associates Limited in accordance with Section 76 of the Drainage Act.
  • Staff Reports:
    • Council approved a funding request from the Ingersoll Rotary Club to support the refurbishment of the CAMI gymnasium for use as a food and clothing warehouse by local charitable groups and community assistance organizations.
    • A report regarding the disposal of dead chickens in residential zones was received as information. Council has requested additional details.
    • Council approved the transfer of the 2023 surplus funds to reserves.
  • By-laws and Agreements (passed): amendment of the Township’s Fees and Charges By-law (updated rental fees – Brownsville Hall) to take effect August 1st; and the provisional by-law for stormwater management utility and rates to take effect July 1st
